On the palate, you’ll find habanero chili carried by a vinegary base typical of shrubs (often noted as red wine vinegar), along with a spice register and, per some descriptions, a blend including chilies, berries and spices for added complexity and length.
This shrub is designed for recipes where you want depth and a clean build of heat: twisted Margaritas/Palomas, tequila/mezcal, spiced gin, but also Bloody Mary or savory creations. It’s so concentrated that you work “by the dash,” not by the ladle: a few drops are enough to sign the cocktail, not enough to send it straight to the fire extinguisher aisle.
