Better drinks start behind the bar, not in the bottle
Shakers that seal, jiggers you can read at a glance, strainers that hold their spring. We stock the tools that make a cocktail come out the same way twice.
Cocktail Barware started after one too many nights fighting a shaker that stuck shut and a jigger with markings that rubbed off in the dishwasher. We went looking for barware built the way bartenders actually use it, and found most of it hidden behind trade suppliers. So we brought it to home bars instead.
Today we work with a small group of manufacturers in Japan, Italy and the UK who have been turning out bar tools for decades. Every piece we list has been shaken, stirred and washed in our own kitchen before it reaches the shop.
What we look for in a bar tool
Tested in service
We mix with every tool before we stock it. If a tin sticks, a strainer warps or a spoon bends under crushed ice, it doesn’t make the cut.
Honest measures
Our jiggers and mixing glasses are checked against calibrated scales. Etched or embossed markings only, so the lines are still there after a hundred washes.
Materials that last
18/8 stainless steel, lead-free crystal and solid hardwood. No thin plating that flakes, no coatings that pit when they meet citrus.
Built to match
Finishes are consistent across our ranges, so a shaker, strainer and spoon bought months apart still look like they belong on the same bar cart.
From workshop to your bar cart
A short, deliberate process. We would rather list forty tools we trust than four hundred we haven’t touched.
We source from bar-supply makers, not general homeware factories.
Samples come to us first and get used through a full evening of mixing.
We check weight, balance, seal and finish against the tools we already rate.
What passes gets photographed, listed and packed to arrive unmarked.
A small team that actually mixes
Cocktail Barware is run by a handful of people who came out of hospitality — two former bartenders, a buyer and a packer who takes glassware very seriously. We answer our own emails.
If you’re deciding between a Boston and a cobbler, or wondering which strainer fits your tin, write to us. We’ll tell you what we use and why, even when it isn’t the pricier option.
