The purer your water, the faster you can freeze while still producing clear ice. If you find your cubes are clear on top but the bottom is cloudy, you’ll need to slow down the freezing process by setting your freezer temperature to -14°C (food should be kept at -18°C or below). – the purer the water, the better. Consider filtering your water. Ice clarity is also improved by using warm water to slow down freezing. Boiling your water in a kettle and letting it cool, then boiling it again and letting it only partially cool before pouring it into the ice box, can also help.
